This singer from Peshawar is making waves on the internet for his new music video.

Over the years, Peshawar’s music industry has transformed big time without losing the touch of its local representation and culture. Many artists of Peshawar working in the showbiz and music industry are often creating and uploading their work on the internet due to sheer lack of representation and opportunity on mainstream media. And many songs are forgotten in no time. Reason can be several, sometimes it is just the lyrics other times it’s the video production quality or the audio of the song itself. But – there are, then, some history-making, out-of-the-box, appealing and down right “good” music videos that leaves its mark on the masses like no other. And Ranj by Junaid Javed is promising a pretty longer lifespan on our playlists.
The song Ranj will hopefully set up some new records. Ranj is a treat to ears and to the eyes. “A notion of agony and despair” they call it; and so it is. Sung by Junaid Javed – a singer popular among the youth of Peshawar, audio production by Nazeef Maqsood, directed by Zarak Khan, CEO Gatello Studios.
Ranj is not just about despair and agony but also an artistic illustration of longing and missing the lost loved ones. The singer, in fact, told Gatelloo Studios that the song is dedicated to his father who passed away >>>
The song was Directed by Zarak Khan aka The Photographer Ninja in a short span of two weeks. “At Gatelloo, we make sure we produced the quality that we enjoy ourselves. When you’re creating art, it is unfair to not do your best”, said Zarak Khan the DOP (Director of Photography) at Ranj.
The video was shot at Distrkt91 a local venue turned into a studio for this song. The video of Ranj will feature some prominent names of the industry that’s for sure as it was a collaborative work of a closed community of local artists of Peshawar. The audio song is produced by Nazeef Maqsood, percussions by Joel Micheal.
